Back from Boston

I just returned from a four-day trip to Boston. For a long time, Boston has been on my list of places I’d like to see, and it did not disappoint. I was especially enthusiastic about the bookstores. I love bookstores, and Boston still has good ones. The Harvard Bookstore and The Raven (quality used books), both in Cambridge, were my two favorites. I also spent time in the North End taking in the old buildings and graveyards.

I’m feeling fresh, I’m working on my book, and I’m ready to start posting here again. Unless something especially strange comes up in the news—always a possibility nowadays—I know what my next topic is going to be.

Yay Boston! I agree a good place especially Cambridge. Way back in my college days in the 70s during “the energy crisis” my school UVM had 4 day weeks to cut back on energy usage. I went to Cambridge for 3 day weekends to visit my then boyfriend (now husband) who went to Harvard. But of course I used energy to do that! (At least it was public transportation!) A lot of good memories.

I love bookstores, we have two or three used book stores around here, we go to when we have extra money-not often. Oh and Library book sales. We almost never miss one at the library in the next county. I buy a lot of biographys and sci-fi and my husband loves books on language and sci-fi. Last time I even got several old record albums for 10 cents each. Carol King’s Tapestry and several others, all in good condition. We have a turntable so we can play them, the cds never sounded as good as records to me. One day we are going to have to get more bookshelves before we run out of room.
