The Sun Sets in the West #6

I saw this comment yesterday. I’m not the only one who sees this going on. I think the observation here is entirely accurate.

The big institutions of church, state and business that have made things work for the last 2000 years are dead. They haven’t fallen apart quite yet, but the process of decay is fairly advanced. …If the Democrats continue to ignore this reality, the result will be a pretty violent spasm of the body politic.

I’d suggest that to simplify it further, the problem is that after 40 years of neoliberal “gilded age” globalisation, too many people have become convinced that Money, “the market” IS Nature,–that which keeps us alive;& that the ones who disagree are largely freaking out or looking for a saviour, people have yet to figure out that they’re going to have to Think,& Do,for themselves.

But on a more positive note, how’s the book coming? Other question, being a local, have you considered city lights publishing? Are they still in business?

The book is finished and in the hands of my agent who is looking for a publisher. It’s not the kind of book that publishers are going to be fighting over. But I believe that someone will understand it and want it. City Lights is still in business, but my book is longer than what they usually publish. Besides, I don’t think my ideas are dark enough for them.
